I was debating whether to blog my honeymoon in NYC but hey, why not! I went to NY in October and it was the second time I was there. The first time was a trip on my own in 2007, I pretty much spent all my time walking around till I was sore, shopping, museum-ing, and of course, taking lots of photos. This time was slightly more relaxed but still exciting. Besides doubling as a 2nd honeymoon, the trip was mainly to check out the 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concerts. Two nights of rock greats. I could go on and on about it. You can check out rockhall25.com to see some of the fabulous acts that performed, not to mention some lesser-known surprise guests like Billy Joel, Mick Jagger, Sting, Jerry Lewis, Bonnie Raitt, etc…! If there’s one thing I took from those concerts, it was a new appreciation for “The Boss”, Bruce Springsteen. The man is 60 years old, he danced and sang all night and completely rocked Madison Square Garden. Wow! He was amazing. Here a video I found on YouTube of the last song of the night “Born to Run”.
Well, other than that, I managed to cross something off my Bucket List while I was there.. I went to see a live taping of Dave Letterman! FRONT ROW! That part wasn’t even on the Bucket List. A nice surprise : ). I was lucky to get to see a taping of Jay Leno a few years ago, in my opinion, Jay’s taping was much better but only because he interacted much more with the audience, probably stemming from his background in stand-up.
Well, I think that’s it… except a visit to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, Bodies (The Exhibit), Central Park Zoo and the Metropolitan Museum of Art (and of course for the photographer – a trip to B & H Photo Superstore!). There’s just so much to do there, you’d never get bored… not that I could ever get bored!
Here are a few photos from the trip…
PS: This is just a start in getting the blog up to date before the big wedding season (and this will be a big one for me!). Thanks to all of you guys that still visit my blog to see if I’ve updated, I owe you many thanks and many blog posts!
